Friends of Children of Mississippi, Inc. assists children in becoming independent, self-confident and inquisitive learners and increases families’ capacity to support and nurture their children by developing a compassionate partnership between staff and families that recognizes parents as the primary educators of their children.
We recognize children and families are our greatest resources and support their efforts to raise healthy and productive children. We work collectively with partners to share community resources in order to ensure parents have opportunities to grow in support of their children and all children receive the services needed on their road to success.
Early Childhood Development
FCM’s Head Start and Early Head Start programs address children’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development.
FCM ensures that children receive nutritious meals while attending the Head Start program and reinforce nutrition with families.
FCM builds collaborative relationships among children, families, staff, mental health professionals, and the community in order to enhance awareness and understanding of mental wellness
FCM provides services to children with disabilities and their families, offering specially trained teachers and staff.
FCM increases families’ capacity to support and nurture their children by developing a compassionate partnership between staff and families.
FCM reinforces personal and dental hygiene and provides health screenings and follow-up care by medical and dental professional.
